Rotala sp. Green is a must for beginners as it is very easy to grow. It will tolerate a range of light values and can will adapt to most water conditions (requires no special treatment concerning pH or water hardness). This plant does not require CO2, however it is recommended, along with nutrients, as R. Green will respond through quicker and healthier growth.
Its leaves have bright green coloration and has a star-like shape. R. Green can be grown in all planting zones as it tends to form a cascading bush. The size of the leaves are small, making it an excellent candidate for smaller aquariums. What makes this particular Rotala species unique is that its leaves will remain fresh and bright green regardless of the lighting levels.
R. Green will form a beautiful, busy growth as side shoots are formed willingly. Regular pruning will promote lush growth as it readily puts out new side shoots. Propagating R. Green is simple, just snip the top or side shoot and plant into the substrate. Over time you will be rewarded with a gorgeous aquascape.
